MACD Crossover

Classic TA

Momentum, measured, and only taken when the histogram and trend agree.

how macd crossover works
cross → BUY— MACD— signalhistogram flips green as momentum turns

What it does

MACD subtracts the 26-EMA from the 12-EMA to expose momentum, then smooths that with a 9-period signal line. A raw cross is early and noisy, so this version confirms it: the histogram must be positive and growing, and the higher-timeframe 50-EMA trend must agree with the direction of the cross.

How it works

  1. 1Plot MACD and its signal line in the sub-pane with the zero line.
  2. 2Confirm 1: a fresh MACD/signal cross. Confirm 2: histogram positive. Confirm 3: histogram expanding.
  3. 3Confirm 4: price on the right side of the 50-EMA. Confirm 5: MACD on the right side of zero.
  4. 4Signal fires only when the cross is backed by at least two of the momentum/trend checks.
